Ravens Star Derrick Henry: ‘I’m Tired Of Being At Home Watching’ Super Bowl

Derrick Henry wants something to do in February. “I want to win a Super Bowl. That’s a big motivation. I just want to be able to feel that feeling. I’m tired of watching. Every year, I’m tired of being at home on the couch watching,” the Baltimore Ravens star running back said in an appearance on “The Lounge” podcast. “I want to be a part of it. That’s what’s motivating me right now. I’m going to keep going until we get to that point. We have the 2026 season to get that accomplished.” Last season (2024), Henry, a 2020 All-Pro and a five-time Pro Bowler, rushed for 1,595 yards and 16 touchdowns on 5.2 yards per carry. Meanwhile, he led the NFL with 17 carries of 20-plus yards and has finished second in rushing yards in each of his two seasons with the Ravens (2024-25). All that said, Baltimore missed the playoffs at 8-9 last year and fired head coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons in favor of former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator and former Ravens assistant coach Jesse Minter. In Henry’s first season in Baltimore (2024), the Ravens were eliminated by the Buffalo Bills in the AFC divisional round. “It would be crazy for me to say I played with Lamar Jackson, and we didn’t win any championships,” Henry said. “I cannot have that. I do not want that to be a thing. We’ve got to do it.” Henry has led the NFL in rushing touchdowns three times (2019, 2020 and 2024) and rushing touchdowns twice (2019 and 2020), including rushing for 2,027 yards in 2020 with the Tennessee Titans, with whom he played the first eight seasons of his career (2016-23). The 32-year-old back is one of just nine players to surpass 2,000 rushing yards in a single season. Moreover, Henry is fourth in NFL history with 122 rushing touchdowns and 10th with 13,018 rushing yards. Should Henry continue to produce at or near the rate he has put forth since 2022 (1,555.3 rushing yards and 14.3 rushing touchdowns per year) this season, he’ll become third all-time in rushing scores and sixth in rushing yards. As for Henry’s backfield companion, Jackson, the 2019 and 2023 NFL MVP, missed four starts last year due to hamstring and back injuries, respectively. Jackson recorded a 103.8 passer rating, marking the third consecutive season that the superstar quarterback posted a passer rating north of 100.
