For the second time in two years, long-time Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Brandon Graham is hanging up his cleats. Graham took center stage at a Jefferson Health event in Philadelphia to announce his retirement in person. This is the second time he has stepped away, having previously un-retired to rejoin the team last October. At 38 years old, Graham leaves behind a respectable NFL résumé after entering the league in 2010 as the No. 13 overall pick out of Michigan. During his 16 seasons in the league, Graham earned two Super Bowl rings, a Pro Bowl nod and a Second-Team All-Pro selection. The defining moment of Graham’s career came against the New England Patriots in the high-scoring shootout of Super Bowl LII, when he strip-sacked quarterback Tom Brady late in the fourth quarter. The forced fumble set up a late field goal for Jake Elliott to extend the Eagles lead to eight points, effectively sealing the 41-33 victory. While his career had a quiet start, Graham grew into one of the most durable and impactful pass rushers in Eagles history. Graham spent all 16 of his NFL seasons in Philadelphia, setting a franchise record with 215 games played. Over his career, Graham was able to produce 493 tackles, 79.5 sacks, 23 forced fumbles with 83.5 stuffs and tackles for loss. With Graham now retired, the Eagles’ new-look pass rush takes over. General manager Howie Roseman traded for former Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl edge rusher Jonathan Greenard this offseason to replace Brandon Graham’s production. Alongside Greenard’s arrival, expectations remain high for former 2023 first-round pick Nolan Smith.
