Jameis Winston Reportedly Agrees To 2-Year Extension With New York Giants

Jameis Winston’s charisma can light up any room he walks into, including the New York Giants’ quarterback room. The Giants have agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract extension that keeps him with the organization through the 2028 season, NorthJersey.com reported Sunday. Winston, 32, will remain in New York to serve as the primary backup and mentor to starting quarterback Jaxson Dart. Last season, Winston made two starts for New York when Dart missed time due to injury. He completed 37 of 65 passes for 567 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. He added seven rushing attempts for 23 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Off the field, Winston had a summer to remember, serving as a World Cup correspondent for FOX Sports during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Throughout the tournament, Winston covered fan traditions, toured the host cities, and matchday atmospheres across the United States, Mexico, and Canada all the way up to the final. Originally selected first overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL Draft, Winston spent five seasons in Tampa Bay before spending the next three seasons with the New Orleans Saints and another with the Cleveland Browns. Winston arrived in New York in 2025 and his impact in the locker room since arriving has now been rewarded in what was the final year of his contract with the Giants.
