Odell Beckham Jr.: All I Want Is To Win A Super Bowl ‘For The New York Giants’

Odell Beckham Jr. is back where it all began with the New York Giants, and the veteran wide receiver has one objective. “Most people don’t get a chance to double back, and this is a place that made me into a man, made me into who I am. I have so much love for this organization and this city. I got ‘New York’ tattooed on my back, and I’m from New Orleans. All I ever wanted to do was win a championship for the New York Giants,” Beckham said in a press conference at Giants training camp — which is being held at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia — on Wednesday afternoon. “And just having the opportunity right now, with the end goal in mind, but stack those days. That’s all I want to do for this city and this organization is bring one home.” Beckham, whom the Giants selected with the No. 12 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft out of LSU, was a Pro Bowler in each of his first three years in New York, averaging 96.0 receptions for 1,374.0 receiving yards and 11.7 touchdowns per season from 2014-16. The star wide receiver’s 2017 campaign was cut short after four games due to a fractured ankle, with him then missing the last four games of the 2018 season due to a quad injury and being traded to the Cleveland Browns in the ensuing offseason. Despite playing just five seasons for the franchise (2014-18), Beckham is second in Giants history with 5,476 receiving yards and fourth with both 390 receptions and 44 receiving touchdowns. Beckham spent two-plus seasons with the Browns (2019-21) before being waived and later signed by the Los Angeles Rams during the 2021 season. He went on to win the Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021 but missed the entire 2022 season due to a torn ACL he suffered in that game. Beckham returned to action in 2023, playing one season with the Baltimore Ravens under John Harbaugh, who’s now the head coach of the Giants. He appeared in nine games for the Miami Dolphins in 2024 and hasn’t appeared in an NFL game ever since. As for Beckham’s end goal in New York, the Giants’ last championship triumph came in the 2011 NFL season, when they defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, marking their second title victory over the Patriots in five seasons. The Giants have four Super Bowls (1986, 1990, 2007 and 2011) and eight combined championships on their resume (they won NFL Championships in 1927, 1934, 1938 and 1956). The 33-year-old Beckham is part of a New York wide receiver unit that includes third-year star Malik Nabers — who has been participating in practice after suffering a torn ACL and meniscus in Week 4 of last season — free agent signee Darnell Mooney, veteran Darius Slayton and third-round pick Malachi Fields, among others.
